A Room-Sized On30 Trackplan

For the 2009 On30 Annual, we asked veteran layout designer and builder Bill Miller to design an interesting On30 layout that would fit in a 9' x 11' room. Bill and his wife Mary (the only husband-and-wife Master Model Railroaders) gave us much, much more! Bill designed a layout based on an interesting prototype, has hidden staging at both ends of the layout, a standard gauge interchange and loads of local switching action. Mary's cabinet design, which they use on their own home layout, both hides the staging tracks behind attractive doors and provides additional rolling stock storage. The track plan was split in the magazine to reproduce in a larger scale, which proved to be a bit confusing for some of our readers.
